Enactus
Enactus: Entrepreneurial Action Us.
Enactus Belfast is a social enterprise society at Queen’s and is currently in the top 5 Enactus teams in the UK.
The community of students, academics and business leaders are committed to utilising the entrepreneurial skills and hard working spirit of their members to empower the individuals they work with in Northern Ireland and around the world.
Enactus Belfast runs both social and commercial projects, with the commercial projects providing them with essential funds to ensure that they are sustainable for years to come.
Across the globe there are over 80,000 students involved in Enactus. In the UK alone there are over 50 Enactus University societies and every year they come together in London to present their work over the past year with the hope of going on the represent the UK in the Enactus World Cup. In 2015 Enactus Belfast reached the final 5 teams of the competition thanks to the efforts of an incredible team and fantastic projects. Although they weren't lucky enough to win this time round, next year is another year and another opportunity.
"Enactus is a fantastic society to get involved in while at university. No matter what your degree course is, there's something for everyone. It's one thing to learn about something from a book but when you can get involved in something that creates real social change - that's where you really learn. We are always on the look out for new members to get involved and I encourage anyone to get in touch to find out more about how they can join the team - they won't regret it!" - Orlaith Downey, Enactus VP
